Systems Integration Programmes
Most estates grow by addition. A finance package arrives, then a warehouse tool, then a customer portal, and each new arrival is wired into whatever came before with the shortest possible cable. Custom Software Engineering
Some processes are genuinely specific to the way a business operates, and forcing them into a general purpose package creates daily friction that no amount of training removes. In those cases we design and build software that matches the process, using the same engineering discipline we apply to integration work. The aim is not novelty but a tool that fits, that can be maintained by others, and that will still make sense in five years.
Work is delivered in short increments. Each increment ends with working software, automated tests, reviewed code and a demonstration you can react to. We keep development, staging and production environments aligned so that behaviour observed in testing is the behaviour you get in live operation. Performance budgets are agreed early, and database design, API contracts and accessibility are treated as first-class concerns rather than later cleanups.
On completion you receive the source code in your own repositories, the build and deployment pipelines, the test suite and a runbook describing how to operate and extend the system. We deliberately avoid creating a dependency on our continued involvement: if you choose to take development in-house or hand it to another supplier, the material required to do so is already in your hands.
Cloud Infrastructure Design
Many organisations reach the cloud by migration rather than by design, lifting machines into a provider account and discovering afterwards that identity, networking and cost control were never planned. Our cloud infrastructure design service starts from the opposite end: we establish the landing zone, the account and subscription structure, the network topology and the identity boundaries before any workload is placed.
Everything is expressed as code so that environments can be created, reviewed and rebuilt reproducibly. We define separate development, staging and production estates with consistent guardrails, automated policy checks and clear ownership of each account. Cost is modelled as a design input: we forecast the running cost of the architecture, identify the components that will dominate the bill and choose instance classes, storage tiers and scaling rules accordingly.
Resilience is designed in explicit terms. We agree recovery time and recovery point objectives with you, then design backup, replication and failover to meet them, and we test the recovery rather than assuming it works. You receive the infrastructure definition, the network diagram, the cost model and the operational runbook. The result is an estate that can be understood by a new engineer on their first day and rebuilt from a repository in a controlled number of steps.
Data Platform Engineering
Data problems usually present as disagreements. Two reports show different revenue figures, a dashboard is quietly ignored because nobody trusts it, and the team spends meetings reconciling numbers instead of acting on them. Our data platform engineering service addresses the underlying cause by building governed pipelines with defined sources, documented transformations and visible lineage.
We begin by cataloguing the operational systems that generate data, the frequency at which each changes, and the questions the business actually needs answered. From there we design ingestion, storage and modelling layers suited to the volume and latency involved, and we implement quality checks that run continuously so that bad records are caught before they reach a report. Every transformation is versioned alongside the infrastructure, so a change to a definition is a reviewable change rather than a silent edit.
Deliverables include the pipeline code, the data model, the quality check suite, the lineage documentation and a reporting layer with a single agreed definition for each measure. Cybersecurity Assessment
A security assessment is only useful if it changes what you do next. We look at both the technical controls and the operational reality around them. A backup that has never been restored is not a backup; an alert that nobody reads is not detection; an administrator account shared between five people is not accountability. Where we find gaps we write them with a severity, an affected asset, a concrete remediation step and a suggested owner, so that the report becomes a work plan rather than a warning.
Assessment is followed by re-testing. Once remediation is complete we verify each closed finding and confirm that the fix actually addresses the issue and has not introduced a new one. You receive the findings register, the evidence pack and the re-test report. For organisations under regulatory or contractual pressure, this sequence provides the documented proof that due care was exercised and improvements were made.
Managed IT Support
Once a platform is running, it needs watching. Our managed IT support service provides monitoring, patching, backup verification, capacity review and incident response under agreed service levels. Support is delivered by the same engineers who designed the system, so the person responding to an alert already understands the architecture and does not need to reconstruct it at three in the morning.
Service levels are expressed in measurable terms: response times, resolution targets and availability commitments, each reported monthly against actual performance. Routine work runs to a calendar that you can see, covering patch cycles, credential reviews, backup restore tests and capacity checks. Incidents follow documented playbooks, and every incident produces a written review covering cause, impact and the change that will prevent recurrence.
Support is deliberately transparent. You keep full administrative access to your own systems, you receive all monitoring data, and the agreement can be ended without leaving your estate in a state that only we can operate. The aim is a long relationship built on visible performance rather than a contract built on lock-in. Quarterly reviews bring engineering, operations and management together to look at the readings and decide what to improve next.
